Beach SLSC was announced the "Club of the Year". This is a very prestigious award to win
as it is made up of 10 different categories throughout the year and added up
at the end of the Season.
Ocean Beach won with a score of 242, 32 points ahead of Terrigal. This is a
whole club award and the Executive would like to thank all it's members,
sponsors and supporters for helping to win this award.
Central Coast surfboat rowers will form a guard of honour with their oars
tomorrow when they send off Terrigal surfboat captain Bruce Thoroughgood.
Thoroughgood 55, died suddenly at his Umina Beach home last Wednesday. His son Brett
found him slumped in the Terrigal surfboat he was working on. He suffered a blod
clot to the heart but had no previous health problems.
Thoroughgood rowed for Umina surf club and then had eight seasons at Terrigal
that included winning a bronze medal with the Terrigal reserve boat crew in 2004.
The service for Bruce was held at 12:30pm on Thursday 17 April at the Hillside
Chapel, Palmdale Memorial Park.
